I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2006 and went on to work for sixteen years in NHS community mental health teams. I worked with clients with a wide range of mental health problems including those who had experienced complex trauma, many of whom had received “personality disorder” diagnoses. During that time I qualified as a CAT practitioner and subsequently as an accredited CAT supervisor. I have found CAT to be an invaluable model both for individual therapy and in supporting team understandings of clients through consultation or joint formulation sessions with care co-ordinators.

I now offer individual therapy, including CAT, within private practice, and I also work part time as a clinical tutor with the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Programme at Hull University. I have delivered teaching in CAT both in my NHS role and within my clinical tutor role. I am registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.

I am a cohort tutor for the Catalyse CAT practitioner training course.
